Vestibular Physiotherapy

Sunshine Coast Vestibular Physiotherapy

Dizziness and vertigo affect one in three people over 65 years old. Did you know that over half of these people experience vertigo from a treatable inner ear condition called Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo (BPPV)?

The vestibular system is located in the inner ear. It provides balance and equilibrium. Problems with this system cause the sensation of movement (vertigo) and unsteadiness. Common symptoms include a sense of spinning that lasts moments, especially when looking up or lying down.

Regardless of your age, a trained vestibular therapist can help you with your vertigo, balance or motion sensitivity problem using proven methods such as maneuvers to re-position crystals (otoliths) in the inner ear (Epley maneuver), habituation techniques, balance training and vision training.
